KCB Bank hosts iftar to celebrate ramadan

KCB Bank Uganda has hosted a special Ramadan Iftar dinner, bringing together members of its community for an evening of reflection, gratitude, and unity during the holy month.

The event, held at Four Points by Sheraton Kampala, offered guests an opportunity to break the fast together while celebrating the values of compassion, generosity, and togetherness that define Ramadan.

KCB Bank Uganda Managing Director Edgar Byamah said the gathering underscored the bank’s commitment to fostering meaningful relationships and embracing the diversity of the communities it serves.

“It is truly an honour to share this moment in such a special month,” Byamah said. “The discipline and commitment that Muslims demonstrate in their faith always inspires us. Over time, we have also seen how the business community has adapted to better serve Muslim customers, with more hotels and restaurants now offering proper Iftar packages.”

He noted that Ramadan goes beyond fasting, highlighting the importance of generosity and community support.

“Ramadan is about giving back. It is about supporting those around us and living a life focused on transforming today together. We are reminded of our responsibility to contribute positively to the communities we serve, which aligns with the purpose of our bank,” he said.

Byamah added that the bank’s branches across the country will continue engaging Muslim communities throughout the month.

“Across our network, our branches will reach out to Muslim communities through their mosques to extend our appreciation and commitment. As we break the fast tonight, let us carry this spirit of unity back to our workplaces and families,” he said.

The Guest of Honour, Sheikh Kibirango, commended the bank for recognising the significance of Ramadan and promoting inclusion.

“Ramadan reminds us of patience, humility, generosity, and service to humanity. When institutions create spaces for reflection and unity, it strengthens community bonds. We appreciate KCB Bank for standing with the Muslim community during this important time,” he said.

In the spirit of giving, the bank also distributed food hampers to members of the Muslim community in attendance to support them during the fasting period.

The Iftar dinner provided a warm setting for reflection and connection, with guests observing the traditional breaking of the fast together. Discussions during the evening highlighted the significance of Ramadan and the need to promote compassion, humility, and service to others.

KCB Bank Uganda said such engagements are part of its broader effort to strengthen community ties and reaffirm its role as a partner in social and economic development.
