President Yoweri Museveni has dropped at least 22 ministers in a sweeping cabinet reshuffle, removing several veteran politicians and senior government officials from the executive as he unveiled his new administration for the 2026–2031 term.
The latest cabinet changes are being viewed by political observers as Museveni’s attempt to balance continuity with fresh faces ahead of another five-year term, while rewarding loyal party figures and technocrats following the 2026 general elections.
