Ugandan Embassy in UAE Urges Vigilance as Authorities Confirm Stability

The Embassy of Uganda in the United Arab Emirates has issued a fresh advisory to Ugandans living and travelling in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), assuring them that conditions remain stable while urging continued vigilance and adherence to official guidance.

In a follow-up message to an earlier communication regarding the situation in the UAE and the wider region, Ambassador Zaake W. Kibedi said authorities in the host country have confirmed that stability prevails.

“Authorities have confirmed that conditions remain stable across the country. They continue to maintain heightened vigilance and have reiterated compliance with official instructions and reliance solely on official sources for updates,” Ambassador Kibedi said.

He noted that current guidance from UAE authorities indicates that normal life should continue where it is safe to do so, but emphasized the importance of remaining alert.

“Current guidance from the authorities indicates that normal life continues where safe, but everyone should be vigilant and comply with precautionary alerts especially during emergency notifications,” he said.

The embassy also revealed that it is working closely with local authorities to support Ugandan nationals who may have been affected by the ongoing situation, particularly those stranded while in transit or visiting for various purposes.

“The Ugandan Embassy is working with the authorities to assist citizens who are stranded or stuck as a consequence of the present situation who were in transit, on a visit for tourism or business or medical treatment,” the ambassador stated.

He called on those falling within this category to formally register with the mission for assistance. However, he clarified that other consular matters unrelated to the current situation would be handled under existing procedures.

“Nationals who had other emergencies preceding the current situation such as visa overstays or any other will be attended to using the normal procedures,” he added.

The embassy further advised Ugandans in the UAE to carry valid identification documents at all times, as required by law, and to keep monitoring local media and official communication channels for updates.

Ambassador Kibedi reassured the Ugandan community that both the embassy and consulate remain fully operational.

“The Embassy and Consulate remain fully operational. If you require urgent consular assistance, please contact us,” he said, providing official telephone and email contacts for support.

The advisory comes amid heightened regional attention, with diplomatic missions urging their nationals to stay informed and observe precautionary measures while authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
